On November 1, 1955, Jack Gilbert Graham committed a truly inhuman and cruel act. He decided to kill his mother for two reasons: first, the young man wanted to get insurance. Secondly, he didn't like that a woman treated him like a child.
That day his mother went to Alaska to visit her daughter. She boarded a Douglas DC-6B from United Air Lines. 11 minutes after departure, it exploded. All 44 people on board were killed.
During the investigation, it turned out that Jack planted an explosive device in his mother's suitcase.
At the trial, he first confessed to what he had done, but later changed his position. Jack insisted that he took the blame under pressure from the authorities.
