RT used the ruins of Azovstal and Mariupol to shoot a new prop | WAR IN UKRAINE 2022

RT used the ruins of Azovstal and Mariupol to shoot a new propagandist music video

The Russian music video “Plyve kacha” (eng: “a duckling is swimming”) was uploaded to YouTube four days ago. Media network RT, Russian journalist and artist Akim Apachev and singer Daria Frei shot the video at the locations of Mariupol and Azovstal that had been shelled by the Russian army.

Most abhorrently, for the music itself, the “artists” appropriated a traditional Ukrainian mourning song “Plyve kacha”, changing its lyrics.

Apachev and Frei performed the song in Ukrainian, and had to add Russian subtitles to the video.

“Ukrainian [language] is our trophy, we are taking this language for ourselves,” Apachev explained his “creative” decision.

Some of the notable changes in lyrics:
“Where are we gonna fit all of you in graves?”
“What are your orphans to do?”
