The chip market is expected to grow by 24% this year

Analytical company IC Insights has updated its chip market forecast for the current year. The analysts note that all 33 categories of these products, as defined by World Semiconductor Trade Statistics, are in high demand from end users. Growth is expected in 32 categories, and in 29 of them by 10% or more. This is a fundamental difference between the current situation and market growth in past years, which was usually driven by success in only a few major categories.

However, these categories, as before, act as engines of growth. These include specialized logic chips for industrial electronics (this category is forecast to grow 47%), DRAM memory chips (41%), specialized logic chips for automotive electronics (39%), specialized logic chips for consumer electronics (38%), smartphone processors (34%), analog chips for automotive electronics (31%) and display drivers (also 31%).
