Donald Trump's former Secretary of State and CIA director Mike Pompeo has been ordered to appear in a Spanish court to explain a possible US government plot to kidnap and murder WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Pompeo, in turn, denied the report of a CIA plot to kidnap/kill Assange.
The Yahoo report claims that officials under Pompeo planned several ways to free Assange and/or return the CIA-vault7 files (which were partially published as revenge by the CIA).
According to the report, these measures will be included in the list of "offensive counterintelligence", which will allow the CIA to keep all permits inside the country if Trump does not give permission for this.
As a result, the internal pressure of the administration ended with a briefing by Pompeo, Trump and CIA lawyers avoided extreme countermeasures due to public concerns / while the usual "CIA counter-actions" were authorized to return Vault7 files (unsuccessfully).
