​​WHO cancels public discussion of the proposed pandemic treaty.

In an effort to bring all countries of the world in line with their public health policies, WHO is developing a "pandemic treaty", which will receive the status of a law after it is approved and ratified by national mechanisms. 

However, the timetable allowing stakeholders (NGOs) and others to contribute to the proposed pandemic agreement appears to have fallen under the guillotine as WHO cancels the second round of public opinion scheduled for June 16-17.

It seems that the first round of commissioning was disastrous in terms of WHO's intentions under this proposed treaty. According to James Roguski, a writer who has focused on pandemic issues, this is due to the extremely negative public reaction to the very idea of a pandemic treaty.

1. During the public hearings, 36,294 written appeals were submitted through a special online portal on the WHO website. Over time, these written materials will be uploaded and archived on the WHO public hearings web page.

2. In most written materials, people were categorically against the creation of any international document.

These oral presentations also reflected a general reluctance on the part of the authors to endorse a treaty that would effectively deprive sovereign States of their sovereignty in the field of health.
