Regina Dugan, the former head of DARPA (the Office of Advanced Research Projects of the US Department of Defense), who led the laboratory of advanced technologies and projects at Google, and now holds a similar position at Meta (Facebook), wants people to swallow identification microchips.
She explains how the device works when it is inside a person's body. The chip with the switch is mounted in a regular tablet. When a person swallows it, the acids in his stomach act as an electrolyte that starts powering the chip, which starts turning on and off, generating an 18-bit ECG signal in the human body, so that it becomes fully authenticated.
