Original: Antipov, Stalin, Kirov, Shvernik and Komarov after the defeat of the "Leningrad opposition", 1926. Then Komarova “disappears” from the frame (he was shot). In 1940, the picture was published in the publication "History of the USSR" with Antipov cut out (also shot). In 1949, “Joseph Stalin. Brief biography”, where the photo is carefully retouched, removing Shvernik as well. Based on the same photograph, Isaac Brodsky painted a portrait in which he depicted only Stalin.
