British Atlantis
British Atlantis has been discovered in the North Sea, where scientists have found two submerged ancient settlements. There, artifacts that may be more than 10,000 years old have been discovered in the depths, on a former river bank that was beneath the waves of the sea. A joint team of archaeologists from Britain and Belgium discovered a pair of stone artifacts 40 kilometers north of the village of Blakeney in Norfolk.
They claim the items could reveal important information about two underwater villages that existed from about 8200 to 7,700 B.C. and were submerged many thousands of years before our era.
Sediment samples recovered by scientists contain ancient pollen and other evidence that submerged settlements once stood in fertile areas where plants and animals grew and lived.
