Mysterious Map
This card was purchased by Chinese collector Liu Gang in 2001 from an antique shop in Shanghai for $500. It dates from 1763, but bears the inscription: "This map was drawn by Mo Yi Tong, a subject of the Qing Dynasty, in the reign of Emperor Gong Li in 1763, based on the original map of 1418." However, both Americas are already depicted on the Chinese map. Moreover, both coasts - both western and eastern. And this is 74 years before the arrival of Columbus there.
