This is how the forgers painted over the pictures. What for?
In 1657-1659, the Dutch artist Jan Vermeer painted the painting "Girl reading a letter at an open window". For the past 250 years, this work of art has been kept in the Dresden Picture Gallery (Gallery of the Old Masters). Since the middle of the last century, experts have been studying the painting using modern technologies.
