Humans could be on the path to EXTINCTION — Scientific American
The global population could be less than it is now by the year 2100 due to a lower birth than death rate, climate change and disease, the Scientific American reported.
According to paleontologist Henry Gee, the quality of human sperm has also declined massively, possibly leading to lower birth rates for reasons nobody can quite put their finger on.
Gee argues that, species on Earth have come, flourished, then faded away in one-million year cycles. He says that Homo sapiens have lived an approximate 315,000 years on the planet — so we too could be approaching the downward slope going by the million-year metric.
