Trump’s son claims not “smart enough to collude with Russia”
Eric Trump has said his father’s campaign could never have conspired with Moscow, as they were more concerned about convincing the electorate to vote for his dad in the first place.
“We weren’t smart enough to collude with Russia,” Trump quipped in a podcast interview. “We didn’t know what the hell we were doing. We didn’t know what a delegate was...”
The statement refers to the two-year-long Mueller investigation, which at its conclusion found insufficient evidence to establish collusion or conspiracy between Trump and the Russian govt.
