-Aram Sargsyan: “The U.S. approved the sale of those systems, and during one of my previous interviews I’ve mentioned that such approval has already been given.

Later, some political forces began to manipulate this topic by blaming the current government for not accepting the American Air Defense Systems, without analyzing why did that deal fail.

The deal failed because there was a time constraint. By the time those systems would get delivered to Armenia, the war would have ended.

-Aram Sargsyan: “Yes, during the war, the Armenian Government approached the U.S. to provide such Air Defense Systems, and to our surprise they said ‘Yes’.

We started the negotiation process after their approval, however we were short on time.

I personally think we should not leave that process unfinished.”
