Whilst this is not an exhaustive list, these are some items I put together (and have myself) in the event of the above event.
Canned goods can be bought for cheap from supermarkets, and last 2-5 years. Things like peanut butter are high in calories and will keep you going for a while. Vodka is for sterilisation.
You can watch prepper videos on YouTube for cheap ways to prep.
The other things I would recommend are having a meeting place (e.g. family members house/friends) and picking someone with an older vehicle to pick the others up (as newer vehicles may be disabled).
This may not happen for a long time, but it is better to be over prepared than not at all.
