2021-08-17 18:11:18 "31-year-old Diane flew from London to New York with her 6-year-old and 3-month-old sons. She wrote that that day she didn't get any rest, arrived at the flight exhausted, and from the moment they boarded, the toddler did not stop crying. At one point, she said she no longer cared about the angry passenger looks, she just wanted to close her eyes and sleep. At that moment, one of the flight attendants approached her with a smile, told her how much she loved children and said it would make her very happy if the passenger agreed to let her hold the toddler for a few minutes. Out of exhaustion, the passenger said "yes." She said she slept for two and a half hours while the flight attendant took care of her toddler. The passenger wrote the following sentence following that flight: "No matter what happens from now on, my loyalty to this company will not be harmed."

2021-08-14 01:46:51 Have I told you I was a Youtuber once? No, not the big one. I had around 400 subscribers and several videos.

What kind of videos did I do?!

I translated and voiced an episode of Star vs the Forces of Evil. It was a delightful and very influential experience. Let me tell you that story.

7 November, 2017. I just came from school. For 2 days I'd waited for someone else to translate and voice a new episode of the new season. The whole fandom waited for Soderling to continue voicing. But there was a silence.
When nobody did that, I couldn't wait anymore and decided to take the initiative. I set off to translate and voice a new episode myself!

Well, first of all, I didn't have a microphone. I also didn't have the headphones. What I had was a Galaxy S1 that wouldn't connect to my computer.
Time to give up, right? Not yet.

Although a bit puzzled, I started to analyze the obstacles: I didn't have something to record my voice and I barely spoke English.

For the first problem, I recalled that I had a broken webcam with somewhat functioning small mic. "Why not? At least, something" — I thought and grabbed it.
The overall sound was okay except it had extra loud "B" and "P" consonants (like, when you pronounce "b" in "baseball" too strong). Hopefully, I knew what was wrong.

If you have ever noticed, professional microphones in studios have a pop filter (circular membrane). It's used to eliminate those popping sounds. Apparently, I didn't have one, so I needed to make an improvised version of that.

I looked around and found a piece of gauze. Марля! "Exactly what I need!" — I yelled accidentally.
Quickly covering the microphone with that gauze, I started recording. Марля did the decent job! Perfect!

But then, I remembered I was an ordinary guy with pathetic school-level English who had to transcribe and translate a whole episode.
"How the heck?" — you're asking? Well, almost all English videos on Youtube has auto-generated subtitles. With a few clicks, I accessed all subtitles and copied them onto the Notes. Then, Google translated all the notes into Russian and with some minor edits here and there, my second problem was finally solved.

After three hours of voicing, editing, color grading and sound mixing, I uploaded the freshly-baked video on Youtube.

It may be surprising, but now that short video has over 42K views. Not too bad for марля, huh?

see ya

P.S. should I share the link to that video?

2021-08-05 14:30:21 The biggest buzzword for the next 10 years will be "innovation".

Over 500 times this word appears in the the decree.

If you understand Uzbek, you can skim it real quick:
