@Rybar team continues to report on the progress of the Russian military operation in Ukraine in a
single bulletin with the most significant events of the week.
So, what has happened in the military operation zone over the past seven days?
Russian Armed Forces continue to expand the security zone along the Russian border in
Kharkiv Region. Active fighting is taking place near
Udy and
Sosnivka: Ukrainian sabotage-reconnaissance groups have made repeated attempts to retake the liberated villages.
At the beginning of August, AFU occupied dominant heights to the south of the
Brazhkivka-Sulyhivka-Dovhen'ke line. Russian Armed Forces were forced to switch to manoeuvring defence on the front.
The Russian Armed Forces launched simultaneous offensives in two areas, attempting to retake heights and expand their zone of control around
Mala Komyshuvakha.
Wagner's PMC assault groups continue to methodically destroy the enemy's firing points in
Bakhmut (Artemivsk).
Part of PMC's forces is engaged in mopping up
Kodema and
Zaitseve from
Vesela Dolyna. At the same time, units of LPR People's Militia are trying to advance deeper into
Soledar from the
Knauf Gips Donbass Factory.
Russian troops were able to knock AFU out from their strongholds on the outskirts of
Pavlivka near
Vuhledar.
AFU continue intensive shelling of Europe's largest nuclear power plant and
Energodar city.
Zaporizhzhya NPP is hit from the opposite bank of
Kakhovka Reservoir from
Nikopol',
Marhanets' and
Mar'yevka.
Following the liberation of
Blahodatne (Komsomol'ske), Russian units are within five kilometres of a major fortification along the western bank of
Bilozerka River near
Mykolaiv.
