When Ukraine is done with this offensive, what are they replacing their losses with? What will they have to follow up on this push with? Or to even consolidate what they gained?

The idea that because Ukraine is making gains today they will continue making gains indefinitely ignores their fatal logistical and sustainment issues.

Another reality: Russia is not all-powerful. Its forces (currently levels in Ukraine) are not capable of fighting Ukraine's current all-in offensive toe-to-toe.

Russia IS capable of preserving itself while taking a heavy toll out on Ukrainian forces until Ukraine exhausts itself and the mobilization begins shaping the battlefield.

Warfare is a matter of patience and logic over emotions and pride. Open / Comment

Ukraine is like a novice boxer getting into the ring with a pro doing an exhibition match.

The novice will not pace themselves, throwing everything they have in the first couple of rounds oblivious to the merciless, paced grinding and pounding they will receive in the second half of the match.

When the second half comes, they will be exhausted, depleted, and worked methodically until nothing is left.

There's always some in the audience watching this initial flurry of blows from the novice thinking he has a chance. But those who have watched this sort of match before patiently wait for it to really begin.

An old pro doesn't get provoked by the crowd's initial cheers and jeers, and defers instead to experience, training, fundamentals, and most important of all, patience.

An armed conflict like in Ukraine has no precedent, but fundamentals still apply.

Where is Ukraine replenishing the current losses it's suffering from? When the second half of this match begins, what will they be drawing from? Open / Comment

An article I wrote under my pen name "Tony Cartalucci" noting how desperate the US was to block Nord Stream 2 and how utterly incapable it was to compete beyond threats and coercion. I asked "how far" would the US go - now we know.

"Little adds up regarding America's narrative regarding Nord Stream 2. What is clear through objective observation is Washington's desire to eliminate a competitor at all costs - and to do so not through actual competition, but through coercion and the threat of increasingly dangerous conflict specifically because it cannot compete economically.

Since the US admittedly cannot compete economically, its success or failure will depend entirely on its ability to wield its wide arsenal of "soft power" weaponry - coercion, subversion, sanctions, and conflict by proxy. How far the US will go to ensure success is a matter only time can tell."
