Corona in Dresden - The Green Light on Corona Ampel

Finally, after few consecutive months of high incidence rate in Dresden, the Corona traffic light (#Ampel) turned to green.
This means that almost all activities are permitted again, however, some restrictions may (still) apply.

For all activities, the negative result of a self/quick/PCR Corona-test must be in hand
The self/quick tests are only valid for one day.
The #FREE quick test is offered in
[these locations]
If you are fully vaccinated, the vaccination confirmation is enough.

All shops and restaurants (also indoor) are open again
with limited capacity - no appointment is required

Fitness studios and beauty centers are open
with limited capacity - no appointment is required

Cinemas will open their doors soon
from July 1

Almost all museums and exhibitions are open
Some only accessible via appointment

Large branches of libraries are also open (
BiBo, SLUB)

The outdoor pools will open again

Corona in Dresden - update 18.04.2021

Due to the high #infection rate in Dresden (~ 150) and Saxony (~ 233), the current restrictive measures will remain effective until May 9.

The residents of #Saxony can test themselves against #COVID19 infection #FREE of charge multiple times per week (the weekly restriction of 1 test per week is removed).

Around 100 FREE test centers are currently in operation. This map shows an overview of all current test centers.

The federal government is going to introduce a “federal emergency brake” which applies nation-wide restrictions to effectively break the infection chains. The federal #Notbremse is not concluded yet. It might be introduced by the end of next week.

2021-03-25 15:06:39 Update:

The previous decision of declaring 2 exceptional "rest days" has been overturned.

Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) has decided, after massive criticism, to stop the so-called Easter rest again.
She described the Easter rest days as her mistake: "If possible, it must still be corrected in time. I believe that is still possible."
She said she now wants to ask the people of the country for forgiveness.

The other Corona measures adopted in the previous post are to remain in place - but the passage on the Easter "Rest Day" will be deleted.

Corona in Dresden - 2 exceptional rest days

Last night, the federal government declared April 1 and April 3 as "Ruhetag" (rest day).
Sundays are good example of #Ruhetag in #Germany. Therefore, the public life on the Thursday and Saturday before #Easter will be similar to a Sunday.

The existing limitations will remain in place until April 18.

On April 12th there will be a discussion about how to proceed afterwards.

There will be 5 days of closure!
Except for Saturday (April 3), even supermarkets will remain closed.

Hotels in Germany remain closed.

Gatherings in public spaces are generally prohibited during this period.

From April 1 to 6, maximum 2 households, and not more than 5 people can meet in private.
Children under 14 are excluded.

Food delivery/pickup remains open.

Vaccination and test centers remain open.

In each region, if the Corona Red Light remains above 100 for 7 consecutive days, harder limitations (emergency break) will be applied.
