Under ERP 2.0, the current in-vehicle unit (IU) will be replaced with the on-board unit (OBU). Unlike the IU, which is only activated when passing through an ERP gantry, the processing unit is like a mini-computer which is processing information when the car engine is switched on. Hence, the processing unit generates more heat than the IU.

Earlier this week, we carried out a parking enforcement operation at several locations in the west of Singapore. Our officers were on the lookout for illegally parked vehicles including trucks, buses, and trailers .

The enforcement operation in Tuas, Boon Lay, and Pioneer found 265 illegal parking offences . Some were parked illegally on double yellow lines, near fire hydrants, or near to road junctions posing safety hazards. Seven vehicles were towed away and impounded.

Reminder:
* Vehicles must be parked at designated parking lots to ensure they do not cause obstruction, inconvenience, or endanger other road users.
* Heavy vehicles must have a valid Vehicle Parking Certificate (VPC).
* Those who park their vehicles illegally may face penalties, demerit points, and even have their vehicles towed.

Seen something colourful in your hood while out and about lately?   You might have come across one of the 21 Pedestrian Overhead Bridges (#POB) that we are sprucing up across Singapore.

We’ve been working with the local communities to see how we can use land transport infrastructure for placemaking. These efforts aim to add vibrancy and a unique identity to our neighbourhoods.

Did you know that our traffic light system can automatically adjust the green time as traffic flow changes? The Green Link Determining System (#GLIDE) works behind the scenes 24x7 to smoothen journeys by minimising the stops a vehicle needs to make.
