2023-06-01 18:32:04 New anti-white draft regulations targeting South African farmers' water access

Under the ANC's new water race quotas, applicants that use 250 000 cubic meters of water or more need to meet strict racial quotas in order to get access to that water. Depending on the size of their water need, farmers or companies that have not "allocated" between 25% and 75% of its shares to blacks will be denied access to water.

This is according to the draft regulations published by the Minister of Water, Senzo Mchunu, on the 19th of May. Open / Comment

Former South African rugby star Lukas van Biljon is said to be 'broken and devastated' after his father died from gunshot wounds in a horrific farm attack in South Africa.

Tragic Andre van Biljon, 70, was blasted three times in the chest at midnight on Saturday and his son, ex-Springbok hooker Lukas, 47, was stabbed repeatedly with a knife.

Six armed men had stormed the family farm in darkness at Oranjeville in Free State Province and tied up Lukas's children with cable ties then sneaked into Lukas's bedroom.

South Africa has issued blanket diplomatic immunity to all leaders attending an August summit, implying that Vladimir Putin will be able to travel to Johannesburg and not fear South Africa acting on an international criminal court warrant for his arrest.

2023-05-30 14:46:20 South Africa Plans for Payments Continuity If Power Grid Buckles

South Africa’s central bank is working on a contingency plan to ensure the country’s payments system remains in operation in the event the nation’s electricity grid collapses.

The South African Reserve Bank and other financial markets regulators including the operator of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange are working on the strategy to ensure the orderly closing and reopening of markets, Deputy Governor Kuben Naidoo said on Monday.

“All of that work is ongoing and we are working quite closely with the telecommunications sector, with diesel suppliers, banks payments industry, with retailers to ensure that we can gradually raise the resilience of the financial sector,” he said in Johannesburg on Monday.

While a total system collapse is unlikely to occur, it is not impossible, Naidoo said. The financial sector is doing all it can to try and prevent chaos, prevent panic and enhance the system’s resilience, he said.
