What's going on? Part 1. Central Command said the U.S. launched a drone strike against ISIS in response to a suicide attack by an Islamist terrorist group at Kabul airport Thursday that killed 13 U.S. troops and about 170 Afghans. Around the same time Friday night, the U.S. Embassy in Kabul posted a warning about the threat of another terrorist attack at the airport and also demanded that U.S. citizens "immediately" leave the area.
There are reports that Taliban forces have entered the military section of Kabul airport. The U.S. could hand over control of the airport as early as tonight, according to local sources.
The Pentagon denies reports that the Taliban entered Kabul airport.
BBC sources in Kabul contradicted the Pentagon's denial, claiming that the Taliban had already entered and were in control of the military part of the airport.
