2020-05-19 00:00:11 Project Timing and Deadline Compliance

What's the Problem?
Programmers almost always snap deadlines. The work is creative and it is impossible to predict up to a minute. A separate headache of PM is when a programmer has done everything faster than the deadline, decided to improve something because of his perfectionist ambitions, and in the end...that's right.
There's always a problem with deadlines. The scientific experience of the project manager brings the internal deadline and client deadline for at least one week. There is always a time scale, deadline, and a list of tasks to be completed by that time. Sort of planned, everything goes according to plan. But then, all of a sudden, the programmer gets sick, the designer gets into an accident, and the front end developer has a burnt SSD. All our plans go to the garbage.

2020-05-18 21:00:06 Low-Code: Future or Fad?

“Low code development” is increasingly being used in the marketing of a wide range of software products. The term refers to the use of a graphical user interface to build something that a developer would usually have to custom code.
“Low code development” is somewhat deceiving. One might think it is going to solve all our development problems but in reality each low code platform has a very specific set of capabilities. They are domain-specific and target areas like web or mobile applications, BPM or CRM, and give us large pieces of predefined functionality to build with. This makes us more efficient at delivering functionality as long as we stay within the platform domain.

2020-05-18 19:00:09 Transitioning to Remote and Agile — Together

Software development is undergoing a massive change. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced teams to adapt and find new ways of delivering products to customers.
For many teams, this purely means a transition to remote working. For others, it brings in bigger changes. Large teams are harder to manage remotely, lines of communication break more often and people, in general, are out of their comfort zones. Teams are being forced to adopt agile development practices as the old way of doing things just doesn’t work anymore.

2020-05-18 19:00:09 Open Closed Principle: SOLID as a Rock

This is the second part of a five-part series about the SOLID as a Rock design principle. The SOLID design principles, when combined, make it easy for a programmer to craft software that is easy to maintain, reuse, and extend. Open-Closed Principle(OCP) is the second principle in this series which I will discuss here with minimalistic examples in Modern C++ along with its benefits and generic guideline.
By the way, If you haven't gone through my previous articles on design principles, then below is the quick links:

2020-05-18 19:00:08 Innovation in Isolation

We've always been a fully distributed team at Tricentis Flood, but the current world crisis has still changed the way we work. Here are some of the things we're doing to keep self-isolation from being too isolating — and maybe it'll help your team too!
Within the Flood team, flooders-in-training (aka children) have made more surprise appearances in team meetings. Work has been punctuated with grocery runs to buy essentials before they run out. Some of us who were out of our home countries when all this happened have had to arrange emergency travel before international borders shut. It would be foolish to deny the impact on team morale as the entire world goes through this collective trauma, eyes glued to numbers that increase by the minute.
