OFFICIAL MISSION STATEMENT OF WOKE AMERICA NEWS FROM 2022 ONWARD
We aim to tell of the struggles of the American people, focusing on the ongoing fights for workers' self management, justice for BIPOC, women, disabled folks, and queer folks, and against the rise of the far-right, the climate crisis, the growing police state, and the growing technofeudalistic regimes of capital.
These struggles manifest in numerous ways. For example, the unregulated tech industry has brought back child labour and scrip currency, and surveillance capitalism feeds more and more of our data into law enforcement as it strips us of privacy. The growing anti-feminist movement interlaces heavily with anti-immigrant and anti-black rhetoric, and openly embraces violence against women, queer folks, and POC, and the security establishment uses the atrocities committed against us as an excuse to rob us of our means to defend against these threats. The climate crisis was brought on by corporate greed, government mismanagement (be it accidental or malicious, as in the case of native lands being poisoned by mining companies and such), and a critical step in abating the collapse is to return our stolen land to the native peoples and restore it to something like its pre-colonial state.
We will still report on events outside the US, as the working people has no nation, but the US will be our primary focus.
