One technique I mastered to improve my writing level to 7.5 is planning my essay. Previously, I saw no need for this and always ended up writing muddled essay as a result. However, meticulously planned essay can definitely guarantee high score in Coherence and Cohesion. Make sure you plan all your ideas before putting them onto paper.
