Apple is preparing a project called RealityOS. Experts speculate it could be an OS for a future virtual or mixed reality platform. On
GitHub and in the download logs on the
Apple App Store, references to some new operating system
RealityOS were found, previously unannounced. Most likely, we are talking about an OS specifically designed
for VR/AR solutions. The fact that developments in this area are underway has been known for several years. This is evidenced by various hiring announcements published by
Apple, insider information and other indications. The company is developing a mixed reality
platform through the efforts of a team of more than 1,000 people. From surfacing
GitHub and App Store data, it appears that there is also its own simulator for
RealityOS, whatever it is. This could indicate that a
RealityOS-based product is at the stage of readiness where it already makes sense to bring in third-party developers to create apps for it.
