Virti – VR Revolution In Professional Education
In 2018, Dr. Alex Young, real-live trauma surgeon, launched Virti, a training platform that allows workers all over the world to enter high-stress virtual reality scenarios, and where they can practice responding/receiveing feedback.
Now, the Virtual Patient, created by the startup, is one of the best inventions. It allows trainee doctors to train safely (and remotely) during a pandemic. The virtual patient works in virtual reality (through VR glasses) and can play out different realistic scenarios of meeting the doctor. Such sessions teach doctors how to communicate with the patient: explain diagnoses and treatment plans, gain trust, and deal with difficult situations.
