The Common Sands — Forite Project Turns Waste into Home Finishings
The Common Sands - Forite project was created by Studio Plastique, Snøhetta and Fornace Brioni as an eco-friendly home decor product that can help turn trash into treasure. In a prototype project, glass is converted from e-waste into a home decor tile that can be used in a bathroom or kitchen just like normal tile. The tiles have been designed in two sizes and each one is particularly expressive thanks to the recycled nature, so no two are exactly the same.
The Common Sands - Forite project identifies what can be done to recycle materials that would otherwise go to landfill, and also improves the aesthetics of home décor through sustainable design.
