The World's Smallest Camera
Researchers from Princeton and Washington universities have developed a tiny camera, the size of which is comparable with the size of a grain of salt, but which, nevertheless, is able to shoot full-color images with sufficiently high resolution.
The device looks very much like a square piece of transparent material, with circular concentric structures applied to its surface. The circle formed by these structures has a diameter of half a millimeter, but on its area placed about 1.6 million tiny cylinders with a certain thickness, height and distance to neighboring elements.
