Uzbekistan is starting major land ownership reform to make land a commercial asset - President announced signing of new Decree which will introduce following conditions from August 1st, 2021:
- Companies and individuals can own land as property or under rent contracts. All transactions will take place in on-line auctions;
- State companies can have permanent use rights;
- Agricultural land is available only under long term rent agreements;
- State authorities and regional administrations cannot distribute land by direct orders or even propose to give special permissions to land to specific companies;
