One more question from SELCAL.
What does FICON stand for?

When the flight is planned to an airport with below freezing temperatures, there is a high likelihood of snow and ice on the RWY. And it is vital to know if these weather conditions are suitable for particular type of a plane.
After a RWY overrun accident by B737 at Chicago airport in 2005, FAA improved the way how to report pilots about RWY condition via NOTAMS.The system now uses a matrix with Runway Condition Codes (RwyCC) that range in value from 6 to 0, with 0 representing the worst condition, and 6 - the best possible condition.
This type of NOTAM is classified as FICON, short for Field Conditions.
For all airfield surfaces, the condition description will, at a minimum, describe the type of contaminant. Depths may also be reported for certain types of contaminants.
In case of snowstorm FICON will also describe the actions taken. Most commonly you will see terms like PLOWED, SWEPT, SANDED, and DEICED.

In accordance with ICAO recommendations pilots and ATCs have to maintain an even rate of speech not exceeding 100 words per minute.

E.g.
Crowds of passengers left stranded at Istanbul airport over flight disruptions caused by poor visibility.

They have missed their flight and now they are stranded at the transit airport.

You can come across this phrase in this article

"Augmented flight crew is a crew that comprises more than the minimum number required to operate the aeroplane and in which each flight crew member can leave their assigned post and be replaced by another appropriately qualified flight crew member for the purpose of in-flight rest." - International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Annex 6.

Separation infringement is usually caused by a human factor mistake.

If a separation infringement is critical, it can cause a mid-air collision.

Usage of phrasal verbs is pretty common.
Here it is one of them.- to PASS OUT (to lose consciousness)

Don't confuse it with "PASS AWAY"( to die)

e.g.
People passed out due to the sweltering heat.

Passengers have some seconds to put on oxygen masks not to pass out in a depressurized plane.

The plane crash-landed and all passengers and the crew passed away.

SELCAL question:

What are the main requirements for pilots?

There are a lot of stringent requiremnts that a person has to meet to be a pilot.
First of all,you need to have an appropriate education,to be a holder of PPL,CPL,ATPL.

The next requirement is a valid Class 1 Medical Certificate. All pilots are required to have this certificate throughout their entire flying careers.

Aviation English Proficiency is also a must. Not less than operational 4th level of ICAO is required from all pilots.

To become a pilot you'll need a specific set of skills and attributes. These include:

-a passion for aviation
-technical aptitude
-spatial awareness
-aptitude for numbers and data analysis
the ability to remain calm under pressure
-problem-solving ability
-attention to detail
-the ability to work well in a team
-excellent communication skills
confidence
-decisiveness and the ability to think on your feet.

In this video you can hear the word "tarmac".
But the question arises "What is tarmac?RWY?TWY?Apron?

News media and a few government sources often use the term “tarmac.” You can see it used to describe runways, taxiways, aprons, parking lots, and sidewalks; and it’s actually incorrect. Aviation professionals cringe when we hear the word.

The Problem: There is no official definition for “tarmac” in aviation. One news report’s use of the word may be completely different from another. It makes sense to use terminology that precisely describes where the story takes place: Apron, Taxiway, and Runway.

Tarmac (short for tarmacadam) is a road surface material.

Calling a taxiway “the tarmac” is like calling it “the asphalt” or “the reinforced concrete.” It makes absolutely no sense and causes confusion.
