Sustained Construction Demand in 2022 supported by Public Sector Projects
At the BCA-REDAS Built Environment and Property Prospects Seminar held today, BCA projects that there will be sustained construction demand in 2022, with total construction demand coming in between S$27 billion and S$32 billion. The public sector is expected to contribute about 60 per cent of the total demand, supported by the strong pipeline of major developments.
Over the medium-term, BCA expects the total construction demand to reach between S$25 billion and S$32 billion per year from 2023 to 2026. The public sector is expected to lead the demand, with upcoming projects such as public housing developments and MRT projects.
