The Minister of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan had several telephone conversations with the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan to resolve the situation in Batken province

Last night, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Ulan Niyazbekov had several telephone conversations with his Tajik counterpart Mr. Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro. They discussed the stabilization of the situation in Batken province with joint efforts, the restoration of public order in the border areas as well as prevention of various violations. The parties exchanged views on respecting the rights and security of each citizen and agreed to conduct awareness raising activities among the local population, to control the protection of public order at the state level as well as to intensify the work of patrol services of the Department of Internal Affairs of Batken and Sughd provinces.

In addition, yesterday at 01.00 AM the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Batken province Mr. Murat Boronov met with the head of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Sughd province Major General of Police Mr. Abdullo Navjuvonov, during the meeting they discussed issues of reconciliation and stabilization of the situation at the border areas.
At the moment the situation on Kyrgyz - Tajik section of the state border in Samarkandyk, Tort Kocho, Kok-Tash, Dakhma, Kocho-Boyu and Golovnoy areas is characterized as stable. The situation ruginf the night was calm, without any incidents and the operational situation is stable.

The Department of Internal Affairs of the Batken province works in a robust security regime together with the border service of the State Committee of National Security and other competent services to control and monitor the situation. Joint patrols have been arranged in the villages of Tash-Tumshuk, Ak-Sai, Dakhma, Orto-Boz and Kok-Tash in the Batken district. Officers of the Police Traffic Control Department of the Batken province region are working to ensure road safety.

The Minister of Internal Affairs Mr. Ulan Niyazbekov coordinates all activities of the Internal Affairs Department of Batken province as well as the internal troops of the Ministry of the Interior of the Kyrgyz Republic to protect public order in the province.

Currently the roads Osh - Isfana in the village of Tort Kocho in the Batken district are open.
