Isolation of genomic DNA with usual hosehold items
Nothing too complicated and you don't even need to buy anything!

The genomic DNA isolation is a basic procedure to isolate genomic DNA of cells. Some cells may be tricky but in general this will work.

First step:
Get your sample.
(For example oral muscous cells or just a little bit of flesh/tomato/banana)
For muscous cells prepare a solution of saline (9 g/L of NaCl in water) or use conventional tap water.

Second step:
Try to destroy the tissue or maybe even some cells.
(I would use a blender or mortar for plant cells but if you are going with oral muscous cells you dont need to do this.)

For this you should use an extraction buffer.
Recipe:
20 mL of water
5 mL of dishwasher
25 mL of filtrated lemon juice
0.5 g of salt (NaCl)
(+) If you have meat tenderizer you could add a little of that too.

Third step:
Filtrate the liquid through a coffee filter.

Fourth and final step:
Try to get an test-tube-like container to hold about 1.5 - 3 mL of your liquid.
Gently fill some milliliters of Ethanol or Isopropanol into the tube. Cover it with a stopper and invert the tube a few times.

What will you see?
You'll see unsolved DNA.
The Ethanol dehydrates the DNA and that causes it to fall out.

What now?
You got yourself your very own genomic DNA from hosehold items. Maybe get it out of the test tube with a wooden stick and resolve it in saline.
