New Alberta Wildfire Emergency Evacuation Payment: Effective today (May 9), any Albertan who has evacuated pursuant to a mandatory order for 7 or more consecutive days, can now submit an application for a one-time emergency evacuation payment.

Alberta is currently in the state of emergency because of ongoing wildfires and more than 29,000 individuals have already been evacuated from northern and central communities.

Eligible evacuees will receive $1,250 for each adult and an extra $500 for each dependant child under the age of 18.

As a result, a family of 4 will be eligible for $3,500 emergency financial help in Alberta.

These applications will be accepted until 30 days after the evacuation order for that specific neighbourhood is lifted.
How To Apply For Alberta Wildfire Emergency Evacuation Payment

Apply online using your Alberta.ca account after you have been out of your home for 7 consecutive days due to an official evacuation order.

Eligible individuals and families can apply for the financial help using an Alberta.ca account at alberta.ca/emergency.

As per provincial press release, it may take up to 24 hours for funds to be transferred into accounts and dispersed by e-transfer.

If you are unable to access the verified account process or receive an e-transfer, you can call 310-4455 or the Alberta Supports Contact Centre at 1-877-644-9992.
