As the most egregious crimes of 2014, the Ombudsman wanted to remind the UN Security Council about the
shelling and air strike on Gorlovka, the
shelling of a residential area in Snezhnoye, the
air strike on the children's beach in Zugres with banned cluster shells with the inscription "
All the best for children." As a result of these attacks alone,
47 people were killed, and
at least 96 more were wounded of varying severity.
The Commissioner for Human Rights in the DPR cited other equally appalling figures.
As of February 24, 2022,
4,374 people died in the DPR (of which

323 were children).
