Feds to Implement National Booster Vaccine Campaign Next Week

The federal government will implement a national campaign next week encouraging Canadians to receive booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, says Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos. “It’s like a phone battery … you recharge your phone battery by plugging into electricity, you recharge your vaccination protection by taking action and getting a booster,” Duclos said of the initiative dubbed “Protection Wanes, Action Is Required.” Duclos made the announcement on Sept. 1 during an update on Health Canada’s approval of a new COVID-19 vaccine from Moderna that targets both the original strain of the novel coronavirus and the specific Omicron variant, called bivalent vaccines....Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos speaks during question period in the House of Commons on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on May 6, 2022.
