This was his 4th Attempt. In all, he appeared in 3 Interviews.

This tells that his Prelims & Mains strategy has stood test of time.

Here he discusses the same along with his journey.

This is the 21st Topper Journey & Strategy post from the Batch of 2023.

When I read Ritu’s post on LinkedIn, I contacted her as I felt that her journey and strategy needs to be on this blog so that larger number of Aspirants can get inspired.

Ritu cleared CSE-22 with AIR-739 in her 6th attempt.

Following is her journey and Prelims-Mains Booklist & Strategy.

2023-05-14 14:23:05 Philosophical Essays are the new fad as far as UPSC in concerned. Almost all of 16 essays of Mains 2021 and 2022 were philosophical in nature and hence not easy to handle like the GS based essays.

This post provides a complete essay written by me on topic "The time to repair the roof is when the sun is shining" asked in Mains 2022.

While the 'simpler' approach to handle the same is writing a multi-dimensional essay (socio-economic-political) or an essay based on individual or society view, I have written the same in terms of 7 major issues that can become challenge for India in times to come and how a proactive approach now can help India tackle these issues now i.e. when the sun is shining (when the problem isn't that grave).

Post Link of 1268 words' essay: https://muditjainblog.wordpress.com/2023/05/14/csm-2022-the-time-to-repair-the-roof-is-when-the-sun-is-shining/

UPSC CSE 2013-20 Optional Performance Analysis

Very important for 2024 Aspirants who are yet to decide their optional

Others please ignore and focus on prelims and do well in optional that you have already selected.

I intend to present an objective fact based analysis & mean no red flags to those who have opted XYZ optional already!

I had earlier written a post for 2013-18 optional analysis. Following is detailed analysis of performance of various subjects based on their selection percentages from 2013-2020

In this analysis, I have also zeroed down on 12 best performing optionals including 4 best humanities optionals. Also, I have identified 3 other optionals that are doing well but dont have huge selections yet.

Gamini Singla, IAS (CSE21, AIR-3) has authored her 1st book titled "How I topped the UPSC and how you can too!!"

Why she got inspired to write this book:

"Post the results, many aspirants reached out to me regarding mental struggles that one undergoes in this arduous journey and other strategy related questions. So I have tried to address all these queries."

In the first half, I have covered the mental preparation that any risky journey demands, and touched on topics like fear, comparisons, risk taking, societal pressure, demotivation etc sharing incidents from my journey, how I handled these issues and how each one of us can.

In the second half, I have shared the strategies like how to get an extra edge in mains, how to manage the breaks effectively that made a huge difference and helped me crack the exam with Rank 3.
