DPR Delegation arrived in Crimea to participate in the annual festival "The Great Russian Word"

Today, on June 6, the opening ceremony of the XV Great Russian Word Festival took place in the Republic of Crimea in Yalta. Delegations from various regions and entities of the Russian Federation, the State Duma, the Federation Council, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhie and Kherson regions, as well as creative, scientific intelligentsia, clergy, representatives of business circles and public organizations came to share the holiday of Russian and Slavic culture with the Crimeans.

The DPR delegation included Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Nikonorova, Minister of Education and Science Mikhail Kushakov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Mikhailova Deputy Minister of Culture Olga Kobets and Chairman of the Education, Science and Culture Committee of the People's Council of the Donetsk People's Republic Natalia Volkova.

At the solemn opening ceremony, which traditionally took place in in the cinema-concert complex Yubileiny, Natalia Nikonorova read out a welcome address from the Head of the Donetsk People's Republic Denis Pushilin, which, in particular, said:

"We are a united people, and for the residents of Donbass, the Russian language is the basis of cultural and historical identity.
The great Russian word is our common treasure, our heritage and support."

DPR Minister added that the support of the fraternal people gives us incredible strength to move on and fight for the right to speak Russian, to think in Russian, to honor Russian history and our ancestors. Therefore, participation in the festival is a particularly significant event for us, bearing a colossal symbolism.

The Head of the Republic of Crimea Sergey Aksenov, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea Vladimir Konstantinov, Deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Southern Federal District Kirill Stepanov, Senator of the Russian Federation Sergey Tsekov, Chairman of the Ryazan Regional Duma Arkady Fomin also made welcoming speeches.

The annual international festival "The Great Russian Word" has been held in Crimea since 2007. The main objective of the project is to support the Russian language, the development of Russian culture and international cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
