HOLD YOURSELF IN

A man without self-control is as defenseless as a city with broken-down walls. Proverbs 25:28 TLB

To hold yourself in means to have self-control. This is when you’re not ruled by your emotions but by the Spirit. The ability to have control over self is a godly virtue that every Christian has. The Bible says, “Controlling your temper is better than being a hero who captures a city” (Proverbs 16:32 CEV).

So, don’t be that child who uses hurtful and careless words when upset. No! That’s not you!

Therefore, through meditation on the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you learn to hold yourself in and respond only in love.
