Pogba, McTominay and even Fred are all better closer to the opposition goal than their own but because Bruno plays as a second striker, the former three basically need to compensate by being closer to the CBs. This isn‘t the way to optimise the midfield.

Unless you buy two CMs who are willing to completely sit in midfield and not move forward, and they are 100% competent at this, then Bruno being that high will always be a problem in the midfield. Santos knows this with Portugal. We need to learn this. Bruno isn’t Messi here.
