2021-10-25 20:42:01 Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s dwindling authority at #mufc has suffered another severe blow with several players having lost faith in the manager’s ability to take the team forward.

Antonio Conte is keen on the #mufc job and is prepared to bide his time but #mufc are understood to be very wary of his style of management - there are some who fear his style is too similar to that of Mourinho, despite his outstanding coaching credentials.

Solskjær remains well liked on a personal level in the dressing room but no longer has the trust of a number of players. His tactical acumen, selections, reluctance to make big decisions and indulgence of underperforming players have all been questioned.

Zinedine Zidane is available but is not thought to be in a rush to return to management after leaving Real Madrid for a second time in May.

It's understood that Mike Phelan is a more peripheral figure now despite recently signing a new contract, and coaches Kieran McKenna and Michael Carrick - who have yet to agree new deals - are also too inexperienced.
