The King of Jordan presented the Saudi Crown Prince with the kingdom's highest decoration
The king of Jordan had just awarded Saudi Crown Prince MBS the "Collar & Grand Cordon of the Order al-Hussein bin Ali". Named after the founder of the Hashemite dynasty, the necklace is the highest civilian decoration in Jordan, usually awarded to kings and princes for their strong and distinct relationship with Jordan.
In 2017, Jordan also awarded such a necklace to MBS' father, King Salman of Saudi Arabia. By awarding MBS with the same honor, Jordan informally recognizes the Crown Prince as the ruler of Saudi Arabia. Another example of the strengthening of Bin Salman's regional status, ahead of Biden's excepted visit to Saudi Arabic next month.
By the way, the tall Bin Salman had to bow slightly for King Abdullah to be able to place the necklace around his neck, but that didn't seem to ruin the moment.
