Lebanon: the Lebanese government threatened striking workers at the governmental communications company Ogero with having the army break into the company's offices

Ogero employees in Lebanon have been on strike for several days now. The company, established in 1972 by the State of Lebanon, is in charge of all of Lebanon's internet and landline communications infrastructure.

The strike has led to significant disconnections and disruptions in communication services in various areas of Lebanon, especially in southern Lebanon.

During last night negotiations between the Ministry of Communications and Ogero's workers' union, the Lebanese government reportedly threatened the workers that if they continue to strike, the Lebanese army will be called to break into the company's offices and take control over the management of the country's communications networks.
