UNRWA succumbed to Hamas pressure

In early June, following pressure from Hamas, UNRWA director in Gaza Matias Shamali was forced to leave the Gaza Strip. Since then, UNRWA appointed a new director in Gaza, Thomas White (from Australia), replacing Shamali.

It's important to note that Shamali was "deported" from Gaza following an interview he had with the Israeli "Channel 12" after operation "Guardians of the Walls" had ended. In it, he claimed that the IDF's attacks were accurate and hardly harmed civilian targets.
