Here's another little writing tip

When we want to explain ideas in our writing, we often do this by providing a series of examples. For instance, I might say that I enjoy '... reading, writing and listening'.

What I see students doing a lot is saying things like "... people should exercise, watch less tv, use a trainer, go running, wake up early every day, eat well and do weights if they want to stay fit."
The reality is for a sentence like this, you are providing too many examples. 3 is the magic number of examples in English. If you provide more than 3 in a series, you are probably just wasting time you could be using on explaining your point with more substance and detail.

Remember, we write series as 1, 2 and 3. Don't go beyond this.
