2023-12-01 17:57:27 The weekend is just around the corner, so we offer you a movie to watch. The film is called ‘The Company Men’.

The crisis of 2008 – 2009 was quite tough. Still, traditionally, financial companies did quite well during the crisis, but the general decline after the deflation of the subprime bubble in the States hit many people like a roller.

If you choose films about the economy, you can most often stumble upon the plot of an economic crisis and recession after a growth cycle.

The Company Men, directed by John Wells, tells exactly how people experienced such a decline. The film was released in 2010, right after the mortgage bubble burst. Therefore, the film, of course, turned out to be somewhat depressing.

The film's plot tells the story of several people of different ages and statuses who have lost their jobs and are trying to cope with the problems that have piled up. All of them are going through this transitional stage hard. Some people can’t stand it and commit suicide; others climb to the end and survive as best they can.

The film is definitely worth watching because it shows the other side of the so-called American dream.

At the beginning of today's trading session, the price bounced off the upper border of the global rising channel. Locally, XAUUSD is correcting within the local descending channel.

At this particular moment, XAUUSD is trying to break the upper border of the local channel.

If sellers defend this resistance, the price will decline toward 2029.00 (lower border);
As soon as XAUUSD breaks above the upper local channel's border, it will move to 2050.00.

2023-11-24 18:03:12 The weekend is just around the corner, we offer you a movie to watch. The film is called ‘BlackBerry’.

The BlackBerry smartphone is a product of Research in Motion (RIM) that appeared in the late 90s. For quite a long time, this smartphone was simply incredibly popular.

One of the main features of the phone was, of course, the full-size QWERTY keyboard.
When RIM created this device, it was an absolutely breakthrough technology.

Meanwhile, RIM's success was greatly facilitated by the synergy of its key employees - company founder Mike Lazaridis and RIM CEO Jim Balsillie.
Mike's technical intelligence and Balsillie's adventurism, who even broke the law by attracting the best specialists from top US companies, did their job.

Blackberry dominated the smartphone market until 2007 - 2010, when Apple introduced the iPhone and Google launched Android, which destroyed the company's operating system RIM.
Of course, the film's key moments are built on the personal relationship between Mike and Jim. The film itself places accents very well.

Who killed Blackberry? Was it really Steve Jobs with the first iPhone? Or maybe an incorrectly built and greatly degraded company management system did not allow Research in Motion to make a second qualitative breakthrough in the market?

The story of a minor character in the film, Mike’s friend and RIM co-founder, Douglas Fregin, is also quite interesting. Douglas managed to jump out of the company almost at the peak of fame—a rare case of luck and good intuition.

The Blackberry Company still exists today. But greatness is in history!
