In the third quarter of 2022, the
inflation rate of New Zealand increased by 6.9%. The central bank is expected to boost the rate by 50 basis points to 2%. Last time, NZDUSD started to rise right before the rate hike but fell back. A scalper could earn around 100 points on the retracement.
The preliminary GDP is the broadest measure of economic activity. A significant increase in its figures shows that the economy is expanding. Last time, the release came out in line with the forecasts. It rose by 7% and pulled the EURUSD lower to the support.
The PCE Price Index measures goods and services consumed by individuals. On April 29, Core PCE rose by 0.3%. The USD dipped lower on the announcement but recovered, overshadowed by the weaker-than-expected Chicago PMI (56.4 vs. 62.1).
