In the 18th and 20th centuries, nine ships of the Royal British Navy were called HMS Tartar. The penultimate of them, the destroyer, acquired its own emblem and the nickname "Lucky Tartar".
The face on the emblem you can compare with the engraving of 1690, it is the Great Emperor of Tartary. And if you are confused by the overly tanned appearance of the Tartarian, there is also an engraving in color. None of them show the ruler abusing his tan. All that remains is to inform the Royal British Navy that heavily tanned peoples of the North were not particularly favored, and negroes did not rule in Asia in the first place. Not too tolerant, but historically correct.
