Part 2 Question:

Describe an interesting TV program you watched about a science topic.

You should say:

•‎ What science topic was this TV program about?
•‎ When you saw this TV program
•‎ What you learnt from this TV program about a science topic?

and explain why you found this TV program interesting.

Part 3 Questions:

•‎ How do you suggest the public can learn more about scientific developments?
•‎ How interested are most people in your country in science?
•‎ Why do you think that children today might be better at science than their parents?

About the speaker: Having been a student of Freshman Academy, Kristina received an IELTS Speaking Score of 8.5 (and 8.5 overall), which she got on her very first try. Last Chance to Register

Typically, we have 30-50% of the reservations for our programs happening on the last day of the month.

This time, however, spots are filling up so fast that, for some courses, there are already more people registered than the number of available spots.

In this case, the priority will go to:
Those who processed the payment
Our alumni

Some payments are yet to be processed, so you still have a chance to enroll in the Freshman Program.

If you are struggling to make a decision, message us directly or in @freshmanchat. We will be happy to answer all of your questions.

Do not procrastinate on a great opportunity to upgrade your English and Math knowledge and become more prepared for the admissions process.

Learn more about our program in the pinned presentation.

2021-06-29 16:25:31 Advice from Valera: Creating Study Plans

1) Set goals whose realization is solely dependent on your effort. In this way, you can take full responsibility for their accomplishment or failure.

2) Create a realistic study plan. Ensuring consistency is more important than achieving an ambitious goal and feeling burnt out after it.

Grammar Tip: It is grammatically correct to use "whose" with inanimate objects. You can read more on this here: https://www.merriam-webster.com/words-at-play/whose-used-for-inanimate-objects

2021-06-28 20:16:16 Admissions with Umid: Motivational Essays

• How important are motivational essays?

It goes without saying that a motivational essay is one of the key components of your application. Upon reading your essay, the admissions counselor can draw a picture of who you are as a person and how prepared you are for the academic rigor at college. In this respect, your personal statement can either boost your application or downgrade it. Given the high stakes, writing a motivational essay is not easy. It takes much time and effort to produce quality work, which is often the result of scores of failed drafts and countless sleepless nights. Personally, it took me about a month to settle on the essay topic and another month to put it on paper.

• When should I start writing motivational essays?

Based on my previous response, you have probably guessed that you should start as early as possible. Again, you will have to write lots of essay drafts that will end up in a trash bin. You will be frustrated with your writing and feel stressed about the deadlines. This is a normal part of the process, so by starting early, you can give yourself plenty of time to write and polish your essay. The application cycle opens on August 1st, so do check out the essay prompts on that very day.

• Should I ask other people to proofread my essay?

Yes! To understand why, we can compare SAT preparation with writing a personal statement. In the SAT, you can always track your progress and be sure that a score of 1500+ is good enough for virtually any university you apply to. However, when writing a personal statement, you are rarely sure if the quality of your work is on par with what is expected from you. A third-person perspective, especially of someone who knows you well, can help you gauge if you effectively convey your ideas in your writing. So, do find people (close friends, parents, or teachers) who would read your essay and potentially give you extremely valuable feedback. Your essay might seem perfect to you, but others can point out grammar mistakes, awkward phrasing, or weak paragraphs which you could have easily missed.
