This officially makes France the European country with the strongest far right movement, with more than half of the indigenous population willing to vote for the RN.

Several months ago, a French teacher was beheaded at school after being accused of Islamophobia and blasphemy.

The whole case started from the testimony of a pupil, who claimed that the teacher had shown "pornographic images of the prophet" and had chased Muslims out of class.

Today the pupil admits to having lied: she was not even present at school on the day of the cartoon lesson. She made it all up.

Yesterday, on the 7th of March, Switzerland voted whether to ban or not ban the burqa (muslim dress that completely covers a woman's face), used in very hardline islamist countries.

Overall the Yes on the ban won with 51.21% while No lost with 48.79%.

Catholic majority and French areas influenced by secularism (laicité) voted yes, while the most liberal Protestant ones voted no.
